MAGAZINE FRONT COVER 2


Masthead: Magazine name is Q magazine. It is displayed on the left side of the magazine. This is the visual branding of the title and is often done in a specifically designed typeface to be unique. It is usually used on the contents page inside as well as the front cover and as a logo for advertising and branding purposes.

Dateline: the dateline used in this magazine often shows when it’s published. The price is shown along with the number pages.

Main image: The main image of this magazine is that Of Jay-z. The camera shot used is medium close up; a shot from shoulder to the top. The image covers the front magazine. The face is big and bold; it stands out clearly, with the rapper looking directly at the camera.

Cover-lines: With Q magazine, it covers different story which are distributed around the main image. With the cover- lines, the names mentioned are written in Red, along with other stories that are covered in this magazine which are black and white.

Main Cover-line: The main cover line is very bold and clear. The name of the rapper is written in a sans serif font. With Q magazine, it tends to focus on recent information about the celebrities. With the main cover line, it is positioned at the top left of the magazine.

Left third: The left third of the magazine is vital, so that the title can be recognized by the audience. The cover lines are also bold to show important the stories are.

Barcode: This is used by retailers. It is at the bottom right of the magazine.

Selling line: The selling is attracted by the readership. It attracts the audience saying ‘the 10 most exciting people in the music’. It shows the editorial philosophy.
